Yousei Teikoku

Well it's been a while since I have posted, and this is due to lack of inspiration. So I have just decided to write about some of my favorite music groups.

The first one I will talk about is Yousei Teikoku (a.k.a. Fairy Empire). Yousei Teikoku is a two-unit band comprised of Fairy Yui/Yui Itsuki (vocal, chorus, and lyric writing) and Tachibana Takaha (keyboard, guitar, composition, arrangement and lyric writing). Through music, Yousei Teikoku is attempting to revive the Fairy Empire that exists between the human world and the spiritual realm known as Spiritua. Yousei Teikoku presents a visual image with gothic style as its core. "Gothic" and "empire" are keywords in their musical concepts. TEAM FAIRITHM has come together to produce this musical revolution. I have heard their music referred to as Gothic DDR and I would have to agree. They do have some beautiful ballads though, but most of their music has a very upbeat tempo. They are well known is anime circles as they have done music for Mai-HIME and such.

I would suggest anyone who is a fan of DDR, J-Rock, or just anime music.

My request to the beauitful MelinaPendulum

Alright anyone who has read my blog knows I hold the youtuber MelinaPendulum in the highest of esteem. Well she did a nice little video that mentions my blog. Well here are my requests. One: What is your opinion of 30 Days of Night? Two: What are your favorite animes/manga? Three: What are your favorite vampire movies of all time?

To the beauitful MelinaPendulum thanks for the shout out and I hope you talk about these subjects soon. To my blog readers if you haven't checked this youtuber out you are really missing out.

30 Days of Night

There are a lot of people who have seen the horror movie 30 Days of Night what most people don't know however is that the movie is based on a series of comic books written by Steve Niles and illustrated by Ben Templesmith.

The comics/film is about a small town called Barrow. The town is located in Alaska. It is also known as the northernmost settlement on the North American mainland and in the United States. The town has 30 days of night (although in the real town it is 67 days) making it the perfect place for a vampire feeding frenzy. The town has one major protector though and that person is Eben Olemaun (Eben Oleson in the film and film adaptation novel) the sheriff of the small town. He has help protecting the town from his wife Stella (in the film the are estranged).

I'm going to tell you what I thought of the movie now. So if you haven't seen it be warned there are spoilers! You have been warned!

I have to say I was surprisingly pleased with how the movie turned out. Much of the comic book survived the transition to film. The vampires were brilliant! They looked like what many people picture when they think vampires. Until Twilight came out that is. I liked the choice of actors especially Ben Foster as the Stranger. He played the part better then I could have ever imagined. While the Stranger's part is small he is very important in the comics/film because he is the person who cuts off Barrow's communication with the outside world allowing the vampires to invade the town with no way for help until the 30 days are over.

Now some problems I had with the film. I hated that they completely got rid of the concept of the ancients and them coming to clean up the mess that Marlow had made. Another problem I had with the film is that they got rid of Vincente whose death became a major part of the sequel comic book. What they did was this: they combined Marlow and Vincente which while satisfying enough wasn't as good as it would have been if Vincente had been in the film.

Another problem I had with the film is what they did to Stella's and Eben's relationship which was basically butcher it except the ending. I myself was quite touched by that screen. I also wish to add that it was acted out beautifully by Josh Hartnett and Melissa George. It almost made up for the butchering of their relationship. The last thing I had a problem with was Iris' voice it sounded like nails on a chalk board and I was about ready to run out of the theater because it made me want to rip my ears off.

All in all I would have to give the film four 1/2 out of five stars. I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel film.

Spirtied Away

In Japan there was a film that overtook Titanic to become the highest grossing film in Japan's history, and I say that it was a well deserved triumph. I have only one complaint about this film and that is that there should be a sequel. I know I am not alone in wanting more of this story not to mention more of the realtionship between Chihiro and Haku.

The story is about a girl named Chihiro who along with her parents end up in the spirit world. Chihiro must save her parents from a witch named Yubaba who has turned her parents into pigs. Along her way she gets help from a dragon boy, a spirit called No face, Yubaba's son Boh, a worker named Rin, Kamaji the boiler man, and Zeniba Yubaba's twin sister. This brilliant film was created by famed animator Hayao Miyazaki.

If you are an anime, cartoon, or just a plain fan of movies this film is a must see.

Death Note ROCKS!!!!!

The person whose name is writen in this note shall die.

Death Note is a manga/anime about a teenage genuis named Light Yagami who picks up a Death Note he finds lying outside of his school. Attached to the Death Note is a shinigami named Ryuk. After proving that the Death Note really does what it says Light decides to become the god of a new world he swears to form, and Ryuk is watching the show to relieve his boredom.

The Next part is spoiler. You have been warned.

At the end of the anime in the Directors Cut Special there is an unnamed Shinigami that appears. This shinigami looks very similar to Light. He even tosses apples to Ryuk the way Light used to. I happen to like the theory that Death Note users become Shinigami. If it is do to the Shinigami realm being "nothingness" or due t some other reason I don't know. It still hasn't been confirmed if the unnamed shinigami is Light but that is what many people think and there is substancial evidence to support this theory.

The main reason I like this theory is because Light was my favorite character. The is a reason that I hope it is not true though as I would hate if Misa became a shinigami. I found Misa to be a giant headache and I would hate for her to be alive in any way, shape, or form.

A opinion I value highly.

Everyone knows about youtube. A place where like this site people post their opinions except that creating a video blog doesn't take much thought so most of the video blogs sound extremely dumb. There are however the exceptional few that actually have a brain. One of these exceptional few is AmaterasuTao/MelinaPendulum.

Everyone has ranted about Twilight these days and AmaterasuTao/MelinaPendulum is no exception. The way she does her ranting is different though. She is an anti-Twilighter who doesn't bash Twilighters just Twihards. The difference being that Twihards are those that are so obsessed with Twilight that they bash/insult/attack anyone who doesn't see their way. Twilighters are just normal fans who don't freak out and some actually have well mannered debates with anti-Twilighters. Hard to believe but it does happen. MelinaPendulum even has a video about this called Not All Twilight Fans Are Crazy. This video can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6kXK3cuxSQ&feature=channel_page I highly suggest watching it and her other videos.

She makes her views well known but in a polite way and always appreciates comments. She gives well reasoned answers for why she does not like Twilight and uses multiple examples. She is also a writer herself although she has not yet been published. I firmly believe that she will be a published author one day and I look forward to reading her future books. I wish her the best of luck in her quest and I'm sure that her books will be even more popular then the Twilight series.

Christine Feehan is the true queen of vampire romance. (Can't remember my old e-mails or passwords so new acount)

All right everyone if find a blog with the exact same title as this it is because I can't remember what e-mail I used for the account or the password for the account so I created a new account with the same title and the same penname, but a different address. So please don't go saying that I copied someone. I am the same exact idoit who doesn't write down usernames or passwords. I will not be putting up the one post that was on there due to the fact I'm pretty sure it is against the rules.

Here is the summary of what it said. I talked about the fact that Sephanie Meyer doesn't deserve more acclaim then Chrisitine Feehan. I have servile problems with Twilight although I will read it and enjoy it for it's simplicity. I don't believe it deserves all the attention it is getting when there are so many better vampire books out there.
